We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Sales Engineer with a strong track record and a genuine passion for explaining and selling technology solutions to a technical audience. As a key member of our customer success team, you will be responsible for driving conversations with new customers and cultivating existing customer relationships to achieve high closing rates and customer satisfaction.
Success in this role will be measured by ensuring customer retention and satisfaction, your ability to acquire new customers, and contribute to the overall success of our sales team and business.

Responsibilities
Main Tasks
- Support sales with technical expertise selling into prospect engineering teams
- Partner with sales with activities such as technical discovery, demos, proof of value, presentation, sizing, and documentation of technical decision criteria; working across a number of opportunities in parallel
- Advise prospects and customers on architectures, patterns, and strategies for making the best use of ZITADEL
Additional Tasks
- Creating practical demonstrations of proposed solutions and demonstrating them to customers
- Conducting and lead technical remote workshops with leads and existing customers
- Support client-facing staff such as support and community managers as technical expert
- Translating technical concepts and patterns into business benefits and articulating the business value of our products and services
- Collecting feedback to relay back to the product and engineering team
- Collaborate across engineering, marketing, and sales teams, including creating blueprints and other technical education materials
- Proactively seek opportunities to support and mentor other pre-sales team members and share standard methodologies
Requirements
Skills & Experience
- Experience in backend development using Go (Golang) or other relevant programming languages
- Work experience in startups or scale-ups. Additional experience in larger companies is a plus
- Understanding of security best practices for web applications and backend systems
Bonus requirements that will give you a plus
- Familiarity with Identity and Access Management concepts
- Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML 2.0 or related specifications
- Knowledge of RESTful and gRPC API design and implementation
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and services (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud), DevOps, or cloud-native application deployment and operations
- Experience in customer-facing roles or projects
- Experience in developing SaaS or source-software projects

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

Technical Support Engineer: Focus on supporting customer success with technical expertise, acting as technical account manager for key clients, and supporting client-facing roles. You will regularly rotate into the engineering team to participate in product development as part of our Scrum cycles.
Engineer (Staff and higher): Your main tasks will be in the engineering team covering a key area of our product and participating in the product development. You will regularly rotate into a Sales Engineer or Technical Support Engineer role and get exposure to our community, prospects, and customers.

We have legal entities in the U.S. and in Switzerland. In both countries you can be employed directly by us.
In all other countries we will use an Employer of Record approach: You will be hired by Remote . Remote has subsidiaries in many countries and is responsible for compliance with labour laws and regulations. We can select benefit packages for each country and employees.
You can find all available countries on their website. If you are domiciled in a country that does not offer EoR, we currently can't consider you for employment.

Most of our Engineering is in Europe. We are building up sales and marketing in the U.S., since many of our customers are U.S. based.

Yes. We had an office at the beginning of our journey, but terminated it since occupancy was very low. Since then we have transitioned to a full-remote team.
We value Flextime and results over hours spent behind the desk. This coupled with different working hours, multiple time-zones, and finding the best people for our team, led us on the fully remote journey.
We meet regularly online for social events. Two times per year we meet together for a team retreat in person.

The team is currently around 20 people, thereof the majority is in engineering roles. We are an engineering company and it is important to us to drive future product development for our community and customers.
